Compendium Part III: A Survey of Post War and Contemporary Art
Mark Borghi is pleased to present Compendium Part III, a survey of Post War and Contemporary Art, in the Bridgehampton gallery.
Compendium Part III provides a survey of major artworks produced during the twentieth century in the Americas and Europe, their theoretical justifications and critical receptions, from Abstract Expressionism to Pop art. By combining an overview of the period with select works from influential figures such as Motherwell, Frankenthaler, Mitchell, Calder and Hofmann and a selection of Italian masters such as Manzu, Greco, Pomodoro, and Simeti — "Compendium Part III" makes us contemplate how we look at and think about the last 75 years and where the future may lead us.
Featuring works by: Mary Abbott, Ruth Asawa, William Baziotes, Norman Bluhm, Alexander Calder, Nicolas Carone, John Chamberlain, George Condo, Gene Davis, Ron Davis, Elaine de Kooning, Willem de Kooning, Jim Dine, Piero Dorazio, Sam Francis, Helen Frankenthaler, Emilio Greco, Al Held, Keith Haring, Hans Hofmann, Franz Kilne, Jeff Koons, Giacomo Manzu, Conrad Marco-Relli, Eddie Martinez, Joan Mitchell, Robert Motherwell, Ben Nicholson, Gastone Novelli, Jules Olitski, Jackson Pollock, Larry Poons, Richard Prince, Richard Pousette-Dart, Mimmo Rotella, Ed Ruscha, Salvatore Scarpitta, Frank Stella, Donald Sultan, Mark Tobey, Anne Truitt, Michael West and Jonas Wood.
