Emily Rudnick
My current practice is a meditation on both image and language, considering the banalities and uncertainties of day-to-day living while activating conversations of color and form. I work to build a complementary relationship between subtlety and the written word, assigning a tangibility to the vague uneasiness we increasingly deal with as we become more entrenched in the boundaries of verbal and written communication. I am focused on using canvas, relief, painting and embroidery as tools to break down and process linguistic colloquialisms and emotional conventions.
