M. Zil Greek, b. 1985

M. Zill was born in Greece in 1985. His work has been shown at Saatchi Gallery, London among other prominent museums, galleries and collections. His work explores the ability of paint to evoke the tactility of other mediums and materials. Marble, 2021 uses both intricate brushstrokes and more gestural strokes to evoke the natural look of marble as it appears in nature. Zill’s work not only emulates the form and feel of materiality, but also presents an abstract composition that offers a myriad of representational motifs and themes.
